😄Temple Pday😄

Image
Hello everyone! Sorry, we switched our pday at Friday this week so that we could go to the temple! We went this morning and it was so great! My testimony of how all of this was done out of love for us was strengthened. We came to this earth to learn for ourselves the blessings that following God brings. The past two weeks have been a blast! We finished zone conferences with Kagoshima and Yamaguchi so I got to see lots of people I love!      We had MLC this past Wednesday and it was pretty good too! There were 2 MLCs this transfer, so this one we were able to shorten by 30 minutes.  (Okinawa ZLs doing their best to be Shisa (look it up)) After MLC we exchanged with the Yamaguchi Zls here in Fukuoka. It was such a blast, I was with Elder Ellis (my previous companion). He also used to serve here in Fukuoka. I contacted Brother Walbeck, a member here in Fukuoka and asked if he wanted to street with us. He took us to a Mexican restaurant, we ate quickly, and then tore up ...

"So when am I gonna transfer?"🙃

President Boss (during lunch at Kumamoto zone conference on Tuesday): "Another zone conference down" Me: "Yea, it was pretty good! ... So when am I gonna transfer?" Pres: "You're already trying to get out?"  Me: "haha no, I'll stay here as long as you need me to" ...  What's up everyone! It's your boy Elder Rasmussen, who decided to make sure he actually sends an email that has spiritual stuff in it this week! Last weeks effective working hours in Fukuoka: (a normal day is 12 working hours) Monday: 0 Tuesday: 0 Wednesday: 3.5 or 4 Thursday: 7 Friday: 0 Saturday: 0 Sunday: 11.5 That's why I joked about transferring, I miss missionary work :( But we get to do a lot of other great work! Its also super important! This week we went to Kumamoto and to Okinawa for zone conferences and exchanges, and also had an exchange in Fukuoka in that Wednesday night/Thursday morning gap! Cute sisters: What? Elder Rasmussen, you're AP?   Me: yes  Cute sisters: Do you have a car? Me: Yea!   ...  Cute sisters: Wow that's so cool!   you're so handsome, I wish I would mar...  Me: but I don't have my license so I can't drive it Cute sisters:  That's totally a joke, cute sisters don't exist while I'm a missionary, but boy do I wish I could drive.   Well! It's been a fun week! (2 Weeks, sorry last email was so bad)  Last week: So yea, transfers were crazy with the beans coming in at the same time the returning missionaries were supposed to be doing all of their stuff. My mission president is so amazing, he doesn't make the elders wear suits during the winter to meetings like ZC or other things, so I didn't sweat through my suits! This week: I've felt so much LOVE this last week! I'm not really sure why, just like, even as I'm typing this email I feel like overflowing with love from God! I've been ab...

Elder Casinillo

Hello everyone! We had a busy week with transfers! Elder Wendel is officially home! Me and my new companion, Elder Casinillo (from the Philippines but his mom lives in Dallas) got to welcome the new missionaries at the airport and get them sent on their way to their areas with just a few bumps along the way.  Last transfer was crazy because the incoming missionaries were split across 3 different flights so there were so many trips to and from the airport, and lots of waiting around for the first group. To improve on that we planned out this transfer so well.... then the flight from Utah got canceled and rescheduled from a Thursday morning arrival to a Friday evening arrival. Their flight ended up getting in at the Same time to returning missionaries went to the temple, so president and sister boss had to skip out on the temple to pick up the new missionaries. I got to ride a taxi for the first time! There weren't enough seats in the vans with all the new missionaries so me and Elde...

My 3rd AP is dying 😭

Well, Elder Wendel's time has come. He officially hit 2 years last week and goes home this week. Which means I will get my new companion soon! He doesn't know he's going to be AP yet, but his name is Elder ....  Just kidding I can't spoil the transfer for all of you missionaries on here!  We will announce transfers to the mission tomorrow night on zoom! Updates: We went to the drivers license place on Friday, finished my paper work, snf got my appointment set up to take my test! ... but they're so backed up it's on September 8th ... in a transfer and a half. I went to the doctor on Tuesday for my knee and he said my meniscus is probably torn. He also said it should get better within a month or two so I don't need to get surgery! Last week: We found a couple people through housing! One of them is an older dude names Nagasawa San! He's super cool, loves American baseball, and loves God! We had zone pday at the fukuoka church today and did lots of activitie...

Hello everyone! We had our last three zone conferences this last week! We went to Kumamoto, Saga (for Nagasaki zone), and Yamaguchi (in Shimonoseki  , my favorite area)!  Highlights: I tore my meniscus (I'll go to the doctor tomorrow to get it looked at...hopefully I don't need surgery) It actually happened 3 weeks ago and I've been limping through all the zone conferences and I just finally convinced myself something was actually wrong   hopefully either no surgery or quick recovery so I don't have to go home  Kumamoto ZC: there was yummy dessert that was kinda like strawberry shortcake! Nagasaki ZC: We rode up with the Mission president and his wife since we still can't drive our car (no licenses), we left at like 7:00am so I didn't have time to exercise (missionaries please exercise everyday so you don't tear your meniscuses) (that's also not necessarily true though because I exercise my 30 minutes every day and still managed it) Yamaguchi...
