Elder Casinillo
Hello everyone! We had a busy week with transfers! Elder Wendel is officially home! Me and my new companion, Elder Casinillo (from the Philippines but his mom lives in Dallas) got to welcome the new missionaries at the airport and get them sent on their way to their areas with just a few bumps along the way.
Last transfer was crazy because the incoming missionaries were split across 3 different flights so there were so many trips to and from the airport, and lots of waiting around for the first group. To improve on that we planned out this transfer so well.... then the flight from Utah got canceled and rescheduled from a Thursday morning arrival to a Friday evening arrival. Their flight ended up getting in at the Same time to returning missionaries went to the temple, so president and sister boss had to skip out on the temple to pick up the new missionaries.
I got to ride a taxi for the first time! There weren't enough seats in the vans with all the new missionaries so me and Elder Casinillo took a taxi to get home. Sister patching (a returning missionary) had her mom and sister come to pick her up and they got to the airport at the same flight the missionaries did, so they actually rode in the taxi with us and we dropped them off at the hotel on the way to the temple!
While riding in the car with them she mentioned how when she was little, sister patching wouldn't eat spaghetti with the sauce because she was so picky. She said that she was so excited to see how much she has changed and grown on her mission. After hearing that I thought about how much I've changed and grown on my mission.
Sorry time is up
Elder Rasmussen
