My 3rd AP is dying 😭

Image
Well, Elder Wendel's time has come. He officially hit 2 years last week and goes home this week. Which means I will get my new companion soon! He doesn't know he's going to be AP yet, but his name is Elder ....  Just kidding I can't spoil the transfer for all of you missionaries on here!  We will announce transfers to the mission tomorrow night on zoom! Updates: We went to the drivers license place on Friday, finished my paper work, snf got my appointment set up to take my test! ... but they're so backed up it's on September 8th ... in a transfer and a half. I went to the doctor on Tuesday for my knee and he said my meniscus is probably torn. He also said it should get better within a month or two so I don't need to get surgery! Last week: We found a couple people through housing! One of them is an older dude names Nagasawa San! He's super cool, loves American baseball, and loves God! We had zone pday at the fukuoka church today and did lots of activitie...

The last three...

Hello everyone! We had our last three zone conferences this last week! We went to Kumamoto, Saga (for Nagasaki zone), and Yamaguchi (in Shimonoseki  , my favorite area)!  Highlights: I tore my meniscus (I'll go to the doctor tomorrow to get it looked at...hopefully I don't need surgery) It actually happened 3 weeks ago and I've been limping through all the zone conferences and I just finally convinced myself something was actually wrong   hopefully either no surgery or quick recovery so I don't have to go home  Kumamoto ZC: there was yummy dessert that was kinda like strawberry shortcake! Nagasaki ZC: We rode up with the Mission president and his wife since we still can't drive our car (no licenses), we left at like 7:00am so I didn't have time to exercise (missionaries please exercise everyday so you don't tear your meniscuses) (that's also not necessarily true though because I exercise my 30 minutes every day and still managed it) Yamaguchi...

Hello! Me and my comp spent like $500-$600 on travel last week.    We had 3 zone conferences, one at the top of our mission in Hiroshima and the other at the bottom in Kagoshima!  I got to see lots of past comps from lots of my previous areas! Shout out Elder Phillips from the MTC, Elder Miller from Shimonoseki, Elder Billings from Yatsushiro, and Elder Ross from Yatsushiro! I didn't take pictures with all of them  Our training for Zone conference training has been good! The one at Kagoshima was probably the least good but it was still ok. The ZLs in Kago had us do Book of Mormon charade, video on the album! As we've been doing our zone conference trainings I've been testifying about my previous experiences from my mission. As I've been talking and testifying about them it has helped me realize how special they are, and how much the spirit has guided me.  We were still able to have like 4 lessons in our area last week and in one we invited Jaesu San to Baptized!...

Back to Okinawa!

Hello everyone! We had a nice week! On Wednesday we had MLC here is Fukuoka so all the ZLs and STLs came over! It was super fun as always. They served salad with breakfast?? MLC I conducted MLC for my first time! It was really good! The area Presidency talked to president boss about making standards of excellence and we chose 3 for our mission!  Okinawa ZC I got to go back to Okinawa! It wasn't all the way to Ishigaki, but it was close! The Zone conference was really fun, probably one of the best zone conferences I've been to!  Exchanges with Yamaguchi ZL I was with Elder Toya! It was so fun to be with a Japanese person again! We found a person named Yuko who is married to an American! We were able to pass out 3 book of Mormons on the exchange! Exchanges with Okinawa ZL I got to talk to lots of Americans! Futenma area covers a military base and we got to go housing at places with lots of Americans, it was super fun! Ok I'm out of time now, but thanks so much, I love you all...

A Week of SNS Miracles

Hello everyone! This past week was the last week of normal missionary work for me for a few weeks   Next week we have Mission Leadership Council, exchanges here in Fukuoka, then we fly to okinawa for zone conference and exchange there too. We will get back just in time for lessons with our new friends we found last week! We found 4 new guys in their 20s (1 is actually 18) and I could totally see 2 of them being baptized this transfer! They were all met up with from Hellotalk, a language -exchange app! Jaesu san! He is from Tokyo but moved to Fukuoka 10 years ago when he was about 8 years old! I had sent a few messages to him and then he asked me if i "knew this place" and then sent me the address of the church. He always biked past it on his way to school and he thought it was some kind of international school since he always saw a bunch of foreigners going in and out. He wants to go to a college in Texas starting this winter! He came for a church tour on Friday...
