Hello everyone! I'm alive, well, and not trunky! I thought it was a spell that when missionaries hit their one year mark they immediately became trunky but I was wrong! Ganbarimasu! (my trainer and 2nd compaion, Elder Nagao and Johnson, said I was the trunkiest missionary ever but I just call it having a hopeful eternal perspective ;) I heard that my go home date is January 31st :(((((( of next year Ok I don't normally give the week breakdown but I think I should go day by day because theres a lot! Monday: We had our second family home evening! Only two people joined, but it was lots of fun! Tuesday: We went had a zoom for an hour and a half in the morning for the mission tour, then online DCM, then we went to kumamoto for the night. We had two lessons over zoom that night! One with Kate (has a baptismal date for 2/9), and one with Regemae! We were able to make Regemae's baptismal date that night! It was probably one of the most spiritually strong lessons I've had...

Hello everyone! I was officially set apart 365 days ago! (I got set apart on the 21st but it was leap year so I had an extra day) So sad that I hit a year but I've learned so much this last year, definitely the year of greatest growth in my entire life. In the past year I am happy to say I have scrolled for 0 seconds. I was able to help so many people come unto Christ and was able to witness 2 of my friends, Ayumu兄弟 and Mai姉妹, make their first Covenant with God. A few things I've learned: Japanese Cooking skills How to follow the spirit and have positive spiritual momentum How to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our brothers and sisters Treble clef How to trust the Lords way, even when it isn't the most efficient way Hope Greater work ethic Focus Consecration How to have fun in missionary work Leading by love and example, not by power So yea! Greetings fellow children of God! I hope you all had a fantastic week! I did! We were able to help our friend Mai get baptized! She is awesome! We had her and 4 other friends come to church on sunday which was pretty great! English sunday school was a blast! We had like 2 lessons every night which was so much fun! I wish we were able to get more joints from members but most of the people we have regular lessons with don't speak japanese very well so its kinda hard. This week as we were preparing Mai to be baptized and as we studied Come Follow Me and General Conference talks I was overwhelmed with gratitude to God for a living prophet and apostles. Last night as I was studying I was trying to find a conference talk to watch, but when I went to october's general conference, I couldn't choose one! I wanted to watch all of them so badly! Happy new year! (akemashite omedetougozaimasu!) Its crazy that covid started half a decade ago 🤯 I turn 20 in like a month which is a big thing in Japan! It's like a coming of age thing but if I'm still in yatsushiro it will probably not get celebrated since there aren't very many members here lol. But the members who are here are so awesome! They are so kind to the missionaries, on fast sunday they bring us food and we got enough to not need to buy anything except for eggs today! We were also going to buy mikkans (between oranges and cuties) but they all looked kinda not good so we didn't. Don't worry mom, we have lots of other veggies! I'm a pretty healthy boy except the member we do service for every week gives us like 2 bags of cookies every week...I should just stop eating them.
