I heard that my go home date is January 31st :(((((( of next year
Ok I don't normally give the week breakdown but I think I should go day by day because theres a lot!
Monday: We had our second family home evening! Only two people joined, but it was lots of fun!
Tuesday: We went had a zoom for an hour and a half in the morning for the mission tour, then online DCM, then we went to kumamoto for the night. We had two lessons over zoom that night! One with Kate (has a baptismal date for 2/9), and one with Regemae! We were able to make Regemae's baptismal date that night! It was probably one of the most spiritually strong lessons I've had. Regemae came to church for the first time on sunday last week... she didn't enjoy it as much as I thought she would. Our Filipino members tried their best to talk with her, they even added her to their group chat, but after she left church, she left every single group chat she was in. I was scared we had lost her. I messaged her and prayed that she would respond to the message and she did. Her response was only a few words, and building up to the next lesson the only confirmation I got from her that we were going to meet was her heart reacting to a message. We called her, and she answered. We talked about church and how she had felt. They she talked about how she felt when I messaged her again. She said when she saw that I kept messaging her she recieved her answer from God that this was what she needed to do. I'm so grateful that I kept going and that God worked through me and my prayer to bless her. We were able to set her date to be baptized as well, but she wants to read the entire Book of Mormon before that day. We set up a reading plan on the Gospel Library app and she has been waking up early before going to work in the Tomato fields and has been keeping up with that commitment. Her baptismal date is on April 20th, Easter Sunday. I will 100% be gone by then but it doesn't matter one bit. We have been able to call with her and study with her and watching her grow and learn is so amazing. I think she will receive direction through the spirit that she needs to be baptized before she finishes the book.
Wednesday: Another 1.5 hour zoom in the morning, then zone conference, then travel back to yatsushiro, and then a 1 hour zoom where the Elders and Sisters were separate... We were with Boss shimai and McCune shimai.... lots of questions about marriage and eternal companions XD We had eikaiwa that night with a party and some less active members came with their friends!
Thursday: Another zoom in the morning and then lots of finding! We had a lesson with our friend Akmal (he used to have a baptismal date but lives to far from church and with work isn't able to come very often). It was a really good lesson where we studied from the scriptures and talked about asking off for more Sundays in the future!
Friday: We made baptismal calendars for our two friends on baptismal date! Kate has a test coming up that she is studying for that make cause her date to be pushed back a week, but we will try our best! We had service for Sister Sugiyama and then she bought us Mcdonalds and some treats! Shes so nice and can hopefully come to visit our friends soon! Then we had another lesson with Regemae!
Saturday: Visited lots of members and OYMed (open your mouth)ed along the way! Talked to lots of cool people and then had an AB (after baptism) lesson with Sister Mai and then our Japanese class!
Sunday: Church! 2 friends and 1 new member came, the fewest people in a long time. We split into Relief Society and Elders Quorum for the first time, it was lots of fun! We were able to talk with Arnold more. He doesnt speak english or much japanese. Got a lesson set up with a Filipino missionary! Had another lesson with Regemae san. Our DL report was supposed to be before dinner but we ended up doing it during dinner since he was late, we used the extra time after dinner to go OYMing... I call it the Intercection Interseption! (We just go around the busiest intersection for 30 minutes. We met a new Filipino who was looking for a church to go to in yatsushiro and we were able to walk her to the church (just down the street)! She wants to come next week!
