I'm alive!

We made it to the mission home! Goodnight I love you!!!

日本語にいきます!Going to Japan!

Travel plans aquired! We are officially going to Japan on Friday! We have to be at the travel office at 4:30 AM and we will land in my mission at 9:00 PM (6:00 AM Utah time, 25.5 hours of travel + travel to mission home/apartment)! It will be a long day but I'm excited for it! Highlights: Provo City Center Temple! Today we got to go to the temple, it was as beautiful and amazing as ever! It could be my last time going for a while depending on what area I'll be serving in. My mission has 2 temples, so hopefully I will be able to go a few times on my mission! Today while I was at the temple I was really hit by the power that having an eternal perspective gives us. When we realize that our stuggles are only temporary and that Christ's Atonement covers them. He felt whatever we are feeling and He knows how to comfort us, when we turn to Him He can lift us up!  The General Authority devotional last Tuesday was given by Relief Society President Camille N. Johnson! She spoke so mu...

Questions are so amazing! -Elder Rasmussen

First of all, welcome home Elder Rasmussen! Happy Birthday Grandpa Rasmussen! Questions are amazing! Elder Cook came this Tuesday! Beautiful weather! Listen to love!  Highlights: Elder Jacob Rasmussen, my older brother got home from his mission yesterday! He served in the Copenhagen, Denmark mission but served the entire 2 years in Iceland, speaking Icelandic and had a little bit of spanish towards the end! I got permission from my Branch President to call last night when my family recieved him in the airport, I'm so grateful that I had that opportunity! Elder Cook of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles came to speak at the MTC! This was my 2nd general authority devotional (since I'm here for 9 weeks I got to have 2!) in the MTC, the first was with Elder Christofferson! Elder Cook talked about the Gathering of Israel and how we get to participate in it! I learned about developing knowledge and skills. It takes about 10,000 hours to be a master of any certain topic. We also learned ab...

Another amazing week! I got a few things this week, most important, my Visa! I'm officially going to Japan on March 30th! I also am kinda sick right now, I went to the medical office and got tested for Covid and Flu but both came back negative. I feel pretty good when I'm on medicine! Also the Japanese is coming pretty quick! I am definitely being blessed with the Gift of Tongues (Japanese translation: igen no tamamono)! Highlights: Tuesday Devotional: President and Sister Lund! They taught an amazing devotional about a bunch of things! One of the things that stuck out to me was a story that President Lund shared. One time, on a business trip, President Lund had a long car ride early in the morning. This car ride took him across a beautiful countryside and he noticed a large bridge was coming up, he got excited to see the view out the window as he drove by, but was disappointed when there was a big concrete wall blocking the view. Every 20ish feet there was a few inches of li...

Woo Hoo! I'm ready for Japan!

Ok, I might not really be ready yet but I'm so excited! Brother Jones has been showing us so many pictures from his mission of the areas, food, and the temple! The Japan Sapporo Temple is so beautiful, it's not in my mission but I want to share a picture with you! Japanese is coming along, I'm learning lots and my testimony of the gift of tongues has grown so much! Food wise, I'll either love it or hate it! Some of the foods Brother Jones has shown us look amazing and some other things are .... not as pretty. Weekly Highlights! My talk! On Sunday I gave a talk, my topic was "Learn and Live the Doctrine of Christ" and it went pretty well! I talked about knees! One night last week while my companion was playing volleyball I sat on the side and was brainstorming what I should talk about, there was a group of people in front of me and a Sister was asking to see people's knees (everyone always has long pants or dresses on in the MTC except when we are in the gy...
