Questions are so amazing! -Elder Rasmussen
First of all, welcome home Elder Rasmussen! Happy Birthday Grandpa Rasmussen! Questions are amazing! Elder Cook came this Tuesday! Beautiful weather! Listen to love!
Highlights:
Elder Jacob Rasmussen, my older brother got home from his mission yesterday! He served in the Copenhagen, Denmark mission but served the entire 2 years in Iceland, speaking Icelandic and had a little bit of spanish towards the end! I got permission from my Branch President to call last night when my family recieved him in the airport, I'm so grateful that I had that opportunity!
Elder Cook of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles came to speak at the MTC! This was my 2nd general authority devotional (since I'm here for 9 weeks I got to have 2!) in the MTC, the first was with Elder Christofferson! Elder Cook talked about the Gathering of Israel and how we get to participate in it! I learned about developing knowledge and skills. It takes about 10,000 hours to be a master of any certain topic. We also learned about how we need to work together. Elder Ballard said "If we are not united, we are not His." Christ worked to help people, we need to be united in His cause to succeed.
Questions! I love questions, they are so amazing! They hold the power to cause people to reflect, ponder, make connections, feel gratitude, and have increased desire to act. Good questions hold this power because there may not be a single one answer. Every single person on Earth leads a life that is unique to them, however, we all have similar experiences with emotions. Everyone on Earth has the light of Christ in them that helps them know right from wrong and can testify of truth of the gospel to them, asking questions can lead them into deeper thought and help them gain the desire to learn more. I'm not good at asking questions yet but I am working on them! Horita kyodai, one of my teachers here at the MTC, is amazing at asking questions. He has helped me learn so many things through his deep questions.
The weater here is absolutely beautiful! It is sunny and gorgeous right now! I love the rain, the clouds, the sun, and everything under the sun!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches a gospel of love! In Japanese class this morning we learned about commandments. The first great commandment is to love God, and the 2nd is to love those around us! Treat them as the children of God that they are! God is our loving Heavenly Father!
I love you all so much! Have an amazing week!
Elder Jared Rasmussen
