Another amazing week! There is beauty everywhere! Inbox
Another amazing week! I got a few things this week, most important, my Visa! I'm officially going to Japan on March 30th! I also am kinda sick right now, I went to the medical office and got tested for Covid and Flu but both came back negative. I feel pretty good when I'm on medicine! Also the Japanese is coming pretty quick! I am definitely being blessed with the Gift of Tongues (Japanese translation: igen no tamamono)!

Tuesday Devotional: President and Sister Lund! They taught an amazing devotional about a bunch of things! One of the things that stuck out to me was a story that President Lund shared. One time, on a business trip, President Lund had a long car ride early in the morning. This car ride took him across a beautiful countryside and he noticed a large bridge was coming up, he got excited to see the view out the window as he drove by, but was disappointed when there was a big concrete wall blocking the view. Every 20ish feet there was a few inches of light shining through, but not enough to see the entire view. As he was getting to the end of the bridge he looked back and saw the view, he noticed himself naturally checking to see if the boat he noticed was there. Then he realized something, how had he known there was a boat? Slowly he realized that as he had passed more and more slits of light, he started to see more than he realized. Only by looking back had President Lund realized he knew more than he thought. President Lund related this to the gospel. We are often given little slits of light and knowledge that, in the moment, seem small and unimportant. But as we look back we are able to see the beautiful picture that Heavenly Father has painted through our lives. We realize we know more than we thought we knew.
Book of Mormon! I've been reading the Book of Mormon a lot recently, one of the things I've noticed in Alma is that even though the people experience trials, Heavenly Father is already preparing a way to bless them! This was really evident to me in the story of Ammon and the Sons of Mosiah. The sons of Mosiah went to preach to the people and were eventually cast into prison. Ammon couldn't send an email or text to let them know that he was working on that, but they trusted in the Lord that they would be delivered from their trials in due time. You may be familiar with the story of Ammon, he wanted to be a servant to King Lamoni and so he was made so! He protected the flocks of the king and served to the best of his ability. King Lamoni noticed that there was something different about Ammon and he sought to learn what that was. Because Ammon served the king, he had the opportunity to teach him. Later, King Lamoni and Ammon were travelling and met Lamoni's father, the King over all the land. At first the high King was mad at Ammon and Lamoni, but after Ammon stood up for himself and Lamoni, the high King was able to learn what power Ammon bore as a disciple of Christ. The high King was able to free the Sons of Mosiah and help bring the Gospel to so many people!
Our senpai (seniors) left! This morning (at 4 AM) the Japanese District right above us headed for Japan! It was a sad experience but I'm so excited for them to be able to spread the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ to so many people! I will join them 3 weeks from today!
Me and a few other missionaries got put on piano polishing duty! Every Saturday we have an assignment to help set up the gym for the devotionals on Sunday. Last week me, Sister West, and Sister Davis got assigned to polish the pianos and the organ! We will do that until we leave and teach new people how before we head out!
Ok, my Visa! Seven out of ten missionaries in my district now have their Visas! Five of them came this week! The District (minus me and Elder Phillips because I was getting tested for Covid and the Flu) went to the travel office and a few of them got it! My hopes were high so on our way to class we stopped and, sure enough, mine arrived too! I should get to Japan while the cherry blossoms are blooming! Join my Google photos down below to see pictures next month!
THE OUTSIDE WORLD! We got out of the MTC today to go to the Provo City Center Temple (Provo Temple just closed) . We rode the public bus and walked on crosswalks! I know it doesn't sound too crazy but this is week 6 of not leaving this amazing place! I truly love the MTC! It's crazy that the public bus was the fastest I've moved in over a month! The temple was amazing! The inside was probably one of the prettiest I've ever seen!
The Earth is so beautiful! I love the mountains, the sun, the rain, the clouds, the wind, the plants, and animals! There is so much beauty all around us, I challenge you to look for something beautiful and email me a picture!
I love you all so much!
