Konnichiwa minasan! Yesterday was my only Easter in japan on my mission! Last year it was while i was in the mtc! Church was one hour and 3 of our friends came at 11am instead of 10am (they were busy in the morning, but came as fast as they could) that was a little sad, but it's ok! On sunday after church we visited a lot of inactive members and shared an Easter message with them! It was by far the best visiting I've ever done! 2 of them said we can come back and share more messages! One thing that was awesome is that the 2 who said we can come back said they are still in contact with Sister Shirakawa, one of the members in the ward. I think Shirakawa shimais hard work in staying in contact with these inactive members and being their friend really helped their hearts be more ready to hear our message! You guys have that power too!  By a series of unfortunate events, on Tuesday night we went from getting home at 8:40 to getting home at 10:15.... missing trains is crazy (my phone...

New comp, Hawaii edition

H ello family and friends! Elder Rasmussen is back with yet another comp! This is number 9! (I'm starting to think I'm hard to live with, this is my 10th transfer) (that's including my mtc comp too, but not the mtc time) We had lots of super good oyms with awesome people who were interested in God, but some of them were too scared to give us contact and those who did stopped responding.  I think that's the hardest thing about missionary work is when people have a full chance to accept the gospel, and then choose not to. But it's ok! Out purpose is to invite them to come unto Christ! I want to be better with getting contacts and setting up return appointments! But it's ok! The spirit can bring the things we taught them to their memory when they need it! Transfers: Surprisingly, I didn't get transfered after my first transfer here in kitakyushu! My new companion is named Elder Porter Hoapilialohaokamalamalama Ellis! He is from Hawaii! He played football at byu...

Popcorn popping on the Sakura trees

Hello everyone! I though the cherry blossoms were pretty last week... This week the popcorn really popped. We went to fukuoka for MLC again and it was so pretty! That night we had group eikaiwa near orio station and we had to make sure that we taught a lesson separately to one of our investigators so it was OK that we were late getting to fukuoka   (if you have a lesson you can get home at 9:30 instead of 9:00) We ran from the eikaiwa to the station to catch the fast train, and then the bus in fukuoka was delayed so I think we actually got to the aps apartment at 9:31 or something, but the eta was 9:27, we tried our ベスト. I went on exchanges in Nakatsu with our amazing DL, Elder Quiros!  It was fun to be in a different area! The action point I gave him was to always be looking for ways to open his mouth and share the gospel. From my perspective if you're ever stopped at a traffic light, you should pull up your bike next to someone and start talking to them. It was per...
