Yatsushiro Christmas!

Hello! I hope you had a Merry Christmas? Christmas I finally got to open all of the presents from my parents! I got a little book by President Holland and I'm excited to read it! I had dinner at the branch President's parents' house on Tuesday! Three friends and two other members came. We ate yakiniku at their house! It was delicious! I made a gingerbread house with my companion! There are pictures below! Last week's Missionary Word! We were able to work with many members last week! We got three joints! That's great for Yatsushiro! There were none the 2 weeks before. We met one new friend. I found a Myanmar person named Aye on Facebook. We also are planning on meeting up with Emma, someone from a facebook ad, but we weren't able to get a joint so we had to cancel. She didn't want to call on zoom because she lives with all the other workers on the farm and can't call privately Mai! I think Mai is a really prepared person. She has relatives in Texas who ...

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a good week! Its too cold here for me! President Boss, send me back to okinawa please! Just kidding! I am loving Yatsushiro and its lack of unbikeable hills (boo shimonoseki) and since the Shimadas are back home now there wouldn't really be a reason to go to Ishigaki... I guess I can survive the cold for a bit longer! At least I'm not in Sapporo! I saw this picture and repented for any complaining about the cold. This past week: Christmas Conference! We had our Christmas Zone Conference last week in Kumamoto! We got to go up on Tuesday night! A super nice member drove us like an hour from the station to the stake center (the traffic was super bad), we talked the whole time in the car and he said if I ever came back to Japan I could stay at his house if I was visiting Japan! (I already forgot his name though these japanese names go crazy sometimes) He gave us donuts and a bunch of other snacks and stuff. The conference was so good! ...

Japanese>English

Hey hey hey everyone! I spent a little too long on my Japanese email today and I'm tired so I'm just going to translate it and send that one! Gomen! I love yall! Hello Everyone! It’s been a while! This is my first email in Japanese! Since Japanese is difficult, this might be short, but I still want to share my missionary experiences with my Japanese friends! How are you? The Shimada couple has returned! One of the difficult things this week… the Shimada couple returned to Abashiri City. 😭 Actually, Ishigaki Island is just as far as Abashiri. But that’s a good thing because the Shimada couple is now with their family again! Here’s a cute photo of them! [Insert photo] Thank you so much, Shimada couple. All of us in Ishigaki Branch are grateful for both of you! From now on, the Zoom meetings for the missionary department will probably be a bit lonely, but I will always remember the things I learned from the Shimada couple! When my wife and I become senior missionaries, the fi...

Getting housed while housing... in a new area!

❤️ Good Morning America! I hope you all are having a fantastic December! I made a Christmas banner with pictures in my new apartment! I have a Lego StarWars advent calendar that my Parents sent me! OK bear with me... this email might be a little bit long. Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/LKr5qY3i11DHJsTs6 Transfer! Kumamoto, Yatsushiro! I got transferred from Shimonoseki to Yatsushiro! Elder Miller will be sticking back in Shimonoseki to support our new member, Brother Ayumu! The Shimonoseki Branch was so amazing, the YSA and Adults are so strong, they have already made Ayumu feel so welcome and one YSA, Brother Makoto already took him on a road trip down to the Fukuoka temple. I am sad to say goodbye to all of the members in the Shimonoseki Branch, they really represented Christ and supported the missionaries in their work. It was amazing One Flock, One Shepherd Going off of that I want to share one of my spiritual thoughts for this week. I was studying in the climax of the Boo...

Ayumu's Baptism!😊

Hello everyone! Please welcome Yamazaki kyodai to the Shimonoseki branch! Ayumu was baptized and confirmed after church on Sunday, December 1st! Pictures on the album! He bore his testimony and it was awesome! He is going to be such a great blessing to this branch! We went to Karato fish market which is like world famous and I ate puffer fish! It was so yummy! Just like chicken! (I want to try raw chicken) We are having a bye bye party for Sister Porter and I'm making my moms cinnamon rolls! I'm so excited to eat one! Me and Elder Miller's relationship is getting lots better! One of us will transfer this week! Someone called the church phone and said they wanted to come to church! We met up for the first lesson and it was so good! He wants to follow God's commandments! OK I love yall! I gotta roll out these cinnamon rolls! Bye bye :) I love you again! Elder Rasmussen :)
