Bakuhatsu and the baputesuma
Konnichiwa beautiful friends and family! I'm so happy that you are reading this! I love you all so much!
Sorry about last weeks email! That explosion happened the Monday night of the week before! We had to go to Kitakyushu for the night because they said the apartment wasn't 100% safe. That was kinda fun! We talked to the old grandma who's apartment had the explosion to see if we could help her with any clean up or anything like that but she said it was fine. She left the stove on when she left and then all the gas blew up at once. The member living in the apartment building across the street heard the little boom and figured someone like crashed their car outside. We were at the church (and surprising enough there was not a single person inside the apartment building when it happened. Everyone is good and only that apartment was damaged. (Maybe smoke damage next door)
But yea!
This week we got to watch general conference with the branch! It was so awesome! Crazy how much japanese I've learned since I got here my first week and watched the April session! Our friend Matusmoto san came to church on Sunday and we watched an hour of conference with him and then we had a lesson with one of our members Kunishi kyodai! He is a convert and shared his conversion story and his testimony! We invited mastumoto san to be baptized and he is really studying and praying about it! I have faith in him! But that would be so hard! Imagine believing something for 60 years and then meeting two teenagers and they teach you something a little bit different. You feel good while you learn about it but what you've done for the past 60 years has made you have a good life! That's about where Matsumoto san is at, it's a very hard decision but it's one I know will bless his life!
The other Elders in our District had a baptismal last week! It was with Hiroto kyodai! I got to do his baptismal interview! We did it by zoom and he was on his phone, his phone died while he was saying the closing prayer! I was like oh well, the interview was over, it's probably fine, but then he joined back on the zoom a few minutes later! He ran and found a random person who was sitting in their car and then asked to use their charger! He said the closing prayer sitting in their car with the other person!
Mizuguchi Choro's birthday is this Saturday so we had a little party for him at the church today! Pictures on the album if the Sisters send them to me!
I really loved Presdient Uchtdorf's talk this past conference! One of the things he said was how ? "Faith is strong when it has deep roots in personal experience, personal commitment to Jesus Christ, independent of what our traditions are or what others may say or do." That's why we have so many trials in our lives. Thats why Satan is allowed to tempt us, through those temptations, hardships, and weaknesses our faith is strengthened. We grow in knowledge of our savior and redeemer in a powerful, personal way.
The Savior knows you personally and perfectly, He knows your pains and struggles, and because of that you can know His joy that comes from never ending life. You can have that through creating a personal relationship with Him!
I love yall!
Elder Rasmussen!
I might get transferred this coming week... if the APs aren't liars (or the plan changed since Zone Conference 3 weeks ago and they aren't liars!)
