Companion Exchanges, another typhoon, and a little tired!

Good morning! 

This week I went on my first exchanges as District Leader! They were lots of fun! On Tuesday the Miyako Island Elders came to Ishigaki and we did a little exchange, I was with Elder Lyman, it's his first transfer! Elder Yamanaka and Elder Hashimoto were together, 2 Japanese Elders, that's pretty rare! (They can't really teach english class very well) Then after that the Zone Leaders came to Ishigaki for an exchange. I was with Elder Baldauf and Elder Yamanaka was with Elder Self! 

Its fun to be with other missionaries but I also just like working in my area with my companion lol. 

I cut my hair today, it looks pretty good I think! 

We cut Pday short so Elder Yamanaka could call and I wrote a cool email but it's lost on the computer now, we never got the rest of the pday time so this is my pday time! 

On the computer I wrote about confidence. Self confidence and confidence before God! This week's Come Follow Me is about the Stripling warriors, the 2000 young men who fought for their families with no real training. The had confidence, but not in themselves, but that they, through God's power, would be OK. They left their mothers but remembered the commandments that they were taught in their youth. Their mothers taught them that if they followed God's commandments that all would be okay, eventually. Maybe they would lose the fight and be taken as prisoners, maybe they would be seriously injured so much so that they would never be the same, maybe they would die. Maybe they would never see their mothers again. But they knew that wasn't true. And I know it isn't true. Because of the covenants God allows us to make, with Him and our family, we can be bound together through the bonds of death and into eternity. One day we can "sit down in the kingdom of God [and] go no more out." (Alma 29:17)

Today I went to a member's house for the son's birthday party. The siblings were all playing together and loving each other. I'm so excited for that day when we can do that in the kingdom of God.

Sorry this is so late, President Boss gave us permission to start Pday early and end later for family communications so this is an obedient email.

Fukuoka???

Hello! Well, I got transferred. I'm now in Fukuoka, Japan, the biggest city in the mission! I'm companions with Elder Wendel and we are the APs (Assistant to the Mission President). It was a crazy week with all the new missionaries coming in and the old ones leaving, so lets get into it!  Tuesday: We had our mission-wide transfer announcement zoom at 9:30 pm, but President Boss called me at around 9:15 and asked if I would be willing to serve as AP. Then I started packing to leave Thursday morning! Wednesday: Finished packing and said bye to all the people in Kitakyushu Thursday: Put my suitcases in the car and drove down to Fukuoka, easiest transfer ever. We parked at the temple and took everything across the street to my new apartment.    We went to hakata station to get the trainers ready for training, and then had lunch and dinner with the new missionaries.  Friday: We ate sukiyaki at the mission home with the returning missionaries and then had a ...

I accidently started writing this in Japanese

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another weekly email! We had a nice week so buckle in. Companion exchange! I exchanged with a missionary named Elder Takamura! He just came to our mission a few weeks ago from his original assignment in New Zealand. He will finish his mission in November! It was a pretty busy exchange, we had 4 lessons right after we got back from Yamaguchi, and then the next morning before we switched back, we had 1 more lesson. We invited 2 of those 5 friends to baptism and they both didn't really go as planned, but were still really good lessons. We only had 30 minutes to go streeting/housing, but it was super yokatta (good)! After I finished talking to the first people we stopped elder Takamura said something like this "Wow...this is why you have so many progressing investigators"   All I did was invite them to come unto Christ.
