My mother has called me unto Repentance ... Also Typhoon
Hello! My ankles are not broken, I would like to apologize for my choice of words in my last email. Basically I didn't hit the kid, I hit the ground ... but anyways we are all good now!
There was a typoon that came to Ishigaki, it was pretty fun. We only had to stay inside for 1 day, but it rained a lot for a few days so we still managed to get abosolutly soaked a few times!
On Friday we were out visiting a member, Sister Karimata, she lives in the big apartment complex and its kinda confusing which way is the fastest to get out. This time when we were leaving it was lightly raining and Elder Johnson said "lets go this way" to a new direction we had never gone before. It ended up being longer than the way we normally go but I saw a very much normal apartment that for some reason stuck out to me. I kept thinking about it on the way home and when we got back to the church 10 or 15 minutes later I felt like we should go back. I'd never knocked doors before and I wasn't really sure what we should do but I just tried. We knocked all of the doors of the building with what seemed like no success, I learned from each person who opened their door what to do and what not to do. Once we were at that building we could see another that was part of the same group and Elder Johnson asked if we should do that one too, by then it was pretty much pouring rain, but we still went, deciding to do part of that building. We did the first 2 floors also with no apparent success, and by the time we got to the 3rd floor it was literally typhooning on us, a lady opened her door and practically yelled at us that we need to go home and that it wasn't safe. It was too dangerous to go home then so we finished the 3rd floor, the rain started to lighten up, and Elder Johnson said that "His heart felt clear." So we decided to go back to the church. (we ended up deciding that we were so soaking wet that we couldn't do missionary work so we went back to the apartment and showered and changed) Anyways, I kept thinking about that Apartment, kinda wishing we had finished the 4th floor too, but Elder Johnson felt like it was ok to go home and I didn't feel against it. On Sunday after church I felt like we should go back and finish it, so we did. We started where we left off and the very last door was open and there was music playing. We knocked and yelled inside and a nice man came out, he is so cool, we told him about our purpose as missionaries, and really wants to learn english! We will hopefully meet with him soon! From that I learned so much about the Spirit and following promptings. I'm so grateful that we had that experience before Elder Johnson goes back home this Thursday!
We did lots of Facebook during the typhoon!
