Another amazing, spiritual week!

Konbanwa! Another great week is done!

Spiritual experiences:
Me and Elder Phillips had our 2nd teaching lesson with Ammon and the spirit was so strong! I was talking and had no idea what I was going to say next but the Holy Ghost kept placing the words in my mouth that I needed to say!

We had a devotional on Tuesday with Sister Dennis (1st counselor in the Relief Society Presidency) and she talked about the power we can receive from the covenants we make with our Heavenly Father! She referenced a lot of talks but two of the main ones were "Spiritual Treasures" and "The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation" both by President Nelson. I've studied those and have learned so much! You guys should too! If you aren't a member of our church then you should set a time to meet with the missionaries to ask questions! You can request to meet with some near you here ( https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/ps/meet-with-missionaries ) it can be in person or online!

I've realized that one of the ways I feel the spirit is by what I desire to do! When I am seeking to do good and desire to help and love others I know that I am being led by the spirit! When I feel less excited for things or don't want to do things I know that I've got work to do!

Highlights:
Sunday was my birthday! All of the people in my district got together and wrote their testimonies in a mini Book of Mormon and highlighted their favorite scripture! I loved it so much! I got cards from some amazing people and my mom sent me cookies on Monday!

Me and the other 3 Elders in my district got locked out of our room while we were showering! (I didn't think they would close the door so I didn't get my key) Luckily the spirit knew that we were going to do that and it just so happened that in the morning after we worked out, Elder Phillips forgot his key in the gym! Elder Fairbanks borrowed a white shirt and ran across the MTC campus in flip flops to get the key! A Senior Missionary stopped him to help her get her walker inside the door but other than that he just got a few stares!

Elder and Sister Allen! Elder Phillips and I have made the goal to talk to and meet more people! At dinner on Monday we started talking to Elder and Sister Allen! They are serving in Lesotho (the little country inside of South America) and will help grow the church and provide technology to the impoverished people! Everytime they see us they say "There's our Elders!" They brought us dinner one night to help us survive the MTC food!

It snowed quite a bit (for me) and I made 4 snow angles next to each other. It started out as one but then every time I walked past I made another one!

We played volleyball with some of the people in our district and I went on the team with the Sisters because we were uneven and we totally destroyed! I also finally tore out my amazing tennis shoes that I've loved since 8th grade. I've gotten many pairs of shoes since then but none have compared in comfort or performance. Sadly they are beyond repair and I have to release them from duty. :'(

Our district started full-immersion Japanese lessons for all of our classes! The first 3 have been good so far! It's a little rough but I know that Heavenly Father needs me to learn this to teach the people in Japan so I know He is helping me learn!

Today we had a service assignment to help during lunch! Me and Elder Phillips were supposed to be on beverage duty but someone who works there called out so we got recruited to help out in "the pit" we scraped old food off of dirty plates for a solid hour before they said we could go. The smell was pretty bad but it has nothing on the Chick-fil-A raw chicken dishes.

You guys are AMAZING!
Elder Jared Rasmussen
